Bio

I started out as a classical guitarist and graduated from the Ferrara Conservatory in 2004, while also playing in various rock and folk groups.
Over the years, my interest in music from around the world and folk traditions has grown, alongside my passion for travel, cultures and people's stories. I founded and worked with numerous projects, moving through different musical languages and repertoires: music from the Balkans and Eastern Europe with Ajde Zora, Balkan Duo, di.Ples and Andriana Takić Trio; Brazilian music with Rosa Emilia Dias Duo, AfroAmerIndios, Afro Samba Duo and Nilza Costa; Mexico and Latin America with Singin' Woods and Almudena; ethno-jazz and Mediterranean music with Mi Linda Dama, Namritha Nori, Nomad Project and Tarab Trio; manouche with Joe Stray; Portuguese fado with Fado Solo and Terra d'Agua; swing and Italian song with Blu Papillon. I have also worked on original music with Luca Ferraris, Osteria dei Pensieri, and GMG and the Beta Project.
The current projects and those that have shaped my path are gathered in the Projects section of this site.
The guitar remains at the heart of my musical path, but over time other instruments have joined it, and I also play them on stage: Turkish saz, fretless guitar, oud, bouzouki, ukulele, mandolin, tenor saxophone and soprano saxophone.
Playing live has always been a fundamental part of my work. Over the years, I have performed in Italy and abroad at festivals and concert series including GitannekesFoor in Belgium, MicroFestival in Germany, Mera Festival in Romania, Mediterranean Diet Fair in Portugal, Ghanafest and Notte di Gozo in Malta, Mezrab in Amsterdam and, in Italy, SUQ Festival (Genova), Adriatico Mediterraneo (Ancona), Suoni della Murgia, Liucci Festival, Alkantara Festival (Catania), FinisTerrae (Sassari), Sherwood Festival, Suoni di Marca (Treviso), Folkest, Mercantia, Ghironda Festival, Cambio Festival (Assisi), Nei Suoni dei Luoghi, Padova Castello Festival, Veneto Jazz Festival, Mandstock (Trento), Museo della Musica (Bologna), Le Cante (Modena) and Arcipelaghi Sonori (Modena).
